Package Bombs Explode at Maryland Govt. Buildings

The packages, including one addressed to Gov. Martin O'Malley, ignited today at about 12:30 p.m. in the mail rooms of state government offices in Annapolis and Hanover.

Two incendiary devices exploded at Maryland state buildings on Thursday, causing minor injuries to a mail-room employee and resulting in an FBI call-out, reports the Baltimore Sun.

A package addressed to Gov. Martin O'Malley and sent to the state administrative offices in Annapolis ignited today at about 12:30 p.m. in the mail rooms of state government offices in Annapolis.

The second package was addressed to Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Beverley Swaim-Staley and sent to Hanover.

First responders included the Maryland State Police, FBI, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
