Tactical Team Apprehends Suspect Who Shot Phoenix Officer

The officer was searching with his female partner for a suspect who parked a vehicle and covered it with a tarp. Police had connected the vehicle to a shots-fired report.

Tactical teams and a K-9 unit found and arrested the gunman believed to be responsible for the death of a Phoenix officer early Wednesday morning, the Arizona Republic reports.

The officer, who has not been identified, was shot after he and a female partner responded to a disturbance call. The officers were searching for a suspect who parked a vehicle and covered it with a tarp. Police had connected the vehicle to a shots-fired report.

Tactical teams and a K-9 unit found the suspected gunman hiding naked in a shed nearby the home. Officers fired rubber bullets to subdue the man, who was reportedly non-cooperative.
