Police Sniper Ends Standoff With Armed Man

A SWAT sharpshooter ended a five-house standoff with a man who repeadedly fired on officers from a house near a shopping mall in Pleasant Hill, Calif., the Contra Costa Times reports.
Renardo Antonio Flores, 32, fled to the backyard of the house with an assault rifle, after officers used flash-bang grenades and tear gas in the house. It was there that a Pleasant Hill police sniper shot him.
Officers made four attempts to contact Flores; three of those were met with gunfire.
