Illinois Cadet Claims 'Raspy' Voice Cost Him Job

Two weeks after he was hired as a cadet with the Evanston (Ill.) Police Department, Reginald Johnson was discharged. The recruit is now suing the city, claiming he was let go because of his "hoarse or raspy sounding voice," ChicagoBreakingNews.com reports.

The recruit claims he was fired after an excercise where he shouted commands at a police trainer. After a physical, he was told to shout at a machine in the station and was then taken outside and asked to shout at a detective.
