19 Minneapolis Recruits Laid-Off During Graduation Week
Nineteen recruits hoping to join the Minneapolis Police Department received word they'll be out of work effective Dec. 22. They were scheduled to graduate from the police academy on Friday, WCCO TV reports.
Six full-time officers and 30 civilian employees with the department also received lay-off notices, due to an $8 million budget shortfall.
