Laid-off Michigan Troopers Leaving State

Approximately half of the Michigan trooper recruits who were laid off earlier in the year are leaving the state or taking part-time jobs, the Herald-Palladium reports.

In June, 100 troopers who had completed the agency's academy were pink-slipped. Last week, 55 were hired back, following the adoption of the 2010 budget.
