Melissa Haley, 35, and Dexter Craig, 28, were terminated for their involvement in an April training accident that led to the shooting of a recruit in the wrist, a Memphis television station is reporting.
The department determined the two offiers were out of compliance with regulations during a demonstration on how to draw a weapon.
During the exercise, Haley pulled Craig's gun from his holster and accidentally fired the gun, which was loaded with a live round.
