A man convicted of killing a Chicago Police officer in 2008 faces a life sentence for the crime, following his conviction Thursday, reports ABC News.

Lamar Cooper, an admitted drug dealer, was convicted of fatally shooting Chicago PD's Officer Nathaniel Taylor. Cooper's attorney argued that his client shot a man he thought was coming toward him to rob him.

Cooper is a known felon who didn't argue with the prosecution's contention that he shot a man in cold blood. The jury took just two hours to render its verdict; Cooper was found guilty on all counts.
