Video: Officer Pepper Sprays Squirrel

A cell phone video clip of a Mesquite (Texas) Police officer using pepper spray on a baby squirrel was posted to YouTube in front of students was posted to YouTube last week.

Sgt. Wes Talley told Fox News the officer stood between a group of students and the animal because he thought it may have been rabid.

You must be kidding, if this squirrel would have bit one of these kids they would want this cop fired. You can't win today,thank god the Police Dept. is supporting the Sgt. actions. Once again, I guess the people living in Mesquite Texas all think they live in Disneyland. Hell I know some guys that would have shot the dam squirrel. What abunch of cry babies.

Can't say I agree with the tactics used but if he decided to spray the
animal he could have had the teacher,ect.remove the kids from the area.What kind of reaction would you expect from children seeing
this?This could have been good PR(i.e.helping a babysquirrel)instead
it turned into a black eye.Oh well,I guess it could have been worse,he
could have stomped it or used a TASER.

Speaking as an law enforcement officer. These actions is what gives law enforcement a bad name and then to do this in front of these children. I beleave this poor quality of a law enforcement officer should also have been sprayed then fired. We in law enforcement do not need this type brother in our family.
