Indianapolis Cop Dies As 'True Warrior'

Indianapolis Metro Police Officer David Moore won't survive gunshot wounds sustained Sunday. The officer will be removed from life support when organ-donor recipients are found.

With emotion cracking in his voice, Indianapolis Metro Police Chief Paul Ciesielski announced that Officer David Moore would not survive gunshot wounds sustained Sunday, and said the officer is a "true warrior," reports the Indianapolis Star.

Officer Moore, 29, will be removed from life support when organ-donor recipients are found. Moore was critically wounded Sunday, when he was shot twice in the face during a vehicle stop.

Officer Moore's parents — Spencer Moore, a retired IMPD lieutenant, and Sgt. Jo Moore, who recently entered her 26th year on the force — spoke during a press conference with his mother saying, "Somebody's gonna get a darn good heart."
