James Mee, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputy who arrested Mel Gibson in 2006 for driving drunk, has sued his agency, claiming retaliation, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Mee, who is still employed with the department, claims supervisors passed him over for promotions and that his job performance has been unfairly scrutinized, after he refused to redact Gibson's anti-Semitic remarks from his incident report.

"The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," Mee quoted Gibson as saying.
