The 25-year-old suspect who allegedly shot and killed Detroit Police officer Brian Huff at an abandoned drug house on May 3 could have been behind bars at the time due to a pair of earlier unlawful encounters with police officers, the Detroit News reports.
Jason Gibson, who was arraigned on 18 counts related to the shootout on Tuesday, faced a second arraignment Friday for failing to appear in court weeks prior to the shooting.
Gibson was facing charges of illegally carrying a gun reported stolen by an Ohio officer and for fighting with two Detroit officers in November.
