Hartford Officer Shot After Foot Pursuit Leaves Hospital
A Hartford (Conn.) PD police officer is recovering well from two bullet wounds he sustained during a scuffle with a burglary suspect, the Hartford Courant reports.
Officer Michael Bodner was shot in the right arm and right leg while he wrestled with Dwayne Powell at 12:41 a.m. early Wednesday. Bodner and his partner were trying to question Powell for an ongoing burglary investigation. Powell ran, was caught by Bodner, then became violent. He pulled a gun and fired two shots, wounding Bodner.
Within three minutes, other officers arrived and took Powell into custody.
