A Las Vegas Metro Police officer has died following a car accident Wednesday night. Officer Milburn "Millie" Beitel died at UMC following surgery.
Officer Beitel was 30 years old and spent most of his life in Las Vegas, attending Greenspun Middle School and Silverado High School.
The other officer remains at UMC in serious but stable condition.
The Injured Police Officers Fund (IPOF) has established an account for officer Beitel's family at Nevada State Bank, #602029423.
The IPOF is a non-profit group comprised of sworn law enforcement officers frmo each of the member agencies. It helps officers and their families with expenses not covered by insurance for serious line-of-duty injuries or a line-of-duty death.
