Families Show Solidarity For Ambushed Winston-Salem Officers
Families and the police chief of the two Winston-Salem police officers who were ambushed at a Bojangles restaurant on Wednesday by an armed gunman kept a vigil for the men, one of whom was gravely injured when he was shot in the face, the Winston-Salem Journal reports.
Sgt. Mickey Hutchens, a 27-year police veteran, and Officer Daniel Clark were shot by a man identified as 35-year-old Monte Denard Evans, who died at the scene. Evans had gone to the restaurant to meet his former wife.
